Another wonderful short story by Cathy Jones. Pip’s Story Pip was a lonely penguin who had been given to his owner as a rescue. The sad story of the little penguin’s arrival in Wigan, after he had spent a cold and damp winter in his owner’s garden shed, where he lay in a pool of his own urine. When he was eventually found and taken to a rescue centre Pip’s hands and feet were so badly damaged he was sent for medical treatment to save his life. He was then sent to the main rescue centre in Lancashire where he was hand-reared and looked after. Pip was quite young when he was found and this made him very timid, but he grew and developed nicely. Pip was especially fond of treats, which he enjoyed chewing on. Then, one day, a new owner came into the rescue centre and Pip went with him to his home. Pip made a happy home there and soon after, this kind and loving owner gave him to a rescue centre in South Lancashire. He and his wife went to live in a new home, and they have been settled there for three months now. When this new owner found out what a good home Pip had made for himself, he was so pleased. He and his wife also felt Pip needed a new home after all the adventures he had been through, and they also felt he deserved a new start after his time in the garden shed. When Pip was taken to the new rescue centre, he was given the chance to go home with his new owner. Pip loved the new home and has settled in very quickly. He is now very friendly with the other penguins and is becoming a little part of the family. With the help of his new owner, Pip has made a new life for himself and is happy at home with a homely family. 54b84cb42d
